In a valley lived a man
in a black and yellow van
and off grid, an unimpressive life
But the valley man cut loose
when he got to know the Blues
a rapscallion, a scalawag purified

He was playing his guitar
all along with the blues harp
and when he played them
his feet were like his drums
He was singing with a voice
roughened by the heavy booze
as the van
moved on from town to town

the bumblebee
the thick black smoke
from the exhaust
the sound comes dirty
from voice, amps and engines
and prove the buskin' man

thus a busker has been born
can't you hear the mother's moan
the only son a gypsy man
how could she know with his guitar
he would ever go this far
and found himself a boozy one-man band

He was playing his guitar

the mob began to dance
Facing kindness, facing scorn
the blues is why he has been born
the road's his life and once it's gonna be his grave
